Missy has led the show jumping and equitation training ranks for years. She and her husband John Brennan own North Run, which is located in Warren, VT and Wellington, FL.

 

Missy grew up in East Aurora, NY where she learned to ride under the watchful eye of her mother, Doris Clark, a locally renowned horsewoman. Together, they began their business, Fox Run LTD. Missy later went off on her own and started North Run. As a junior rider, Missy was a working student for Chuck Graham, a well-known Buffalo, NY professional. She then rode jumpers with George Morris and Rodney Jenkins, and spent some time working for Jimmy Lee.

 

Missy’s strong roots in the US equitation system has helped her and the North Run team to produce a long list of top riders. Many have gone on to win at the Grand Prix level and have represented their respective countries in Nations Cup competitions including:

In the equitation finals, North Run riders have won a total of 78 National Championships or Reserve titles. The most recent being Luke Jensen who won the National Championship for the 2023 US Talent Search Finals - East, and Maddie Tosh won the National Championship for the WIHS Equitation Final. In 2022, Luke Jensen won the National Championship for the USEF Medal Finals nd was Reserve Champion at the 2022 ASPCA Maclay National Championships. In 2021, Zayna Rizvi won the ASPCA Maclay National Championship and was Reserve Champion in the USEF Medal Finals.

 

Missy’s involvement in the sport goes beyond coaching and training. She’s on the Board of Directors for the North American Riders Group (NARG) and serves on several USEF and USHJA committees including the jumper committee and the equitation committee. 

 

Missy and John are also actively involved with the Kevin Babington Foundation and both sit on the Board of Directors. Missy also founded The Dandelion Fund which is linked to Danny and Ron’s Rescue.
